On Sunday 30 August 2026, local bowler Derek Ainsworth will take on an incredible challenge: a 12-hour Sponsored Crown Green Bowling Marathon at Hesketh Arms Bowling Club.
From 8am to 8pm, Derek will be bowling against a series of Premier League bowlers, all to help raise funds for Cornerstone Library and support the valuable services it provides to our community.
There’ll be refreshments, a raffle, bowling matches and plenty of community spirit throughout the day.
