Volunteering
Volunteer with us!
As a community library, we are entirely run by volunteers. All of our services are supported through our own fundraising activities.
If you are interested in volunteering and would like to learn about current opportunities, please contact us at admin@cornerstonelibrary.org.
We are committed to providing a positive and rewarding experience for everyone who volunteers with us. All volunteers and Trustees are asked to sign our Volunteer Charter, which forms part of our Volunteer Policy.
This policy is guided by three core principles:
Choice
Volunteering is a personal choice and must always be freely given. There should be no pressure or obligation to volunteer, and individuals are free to participate—or not—without coercion.
Diversity
Volunteering is open to everyone, regardless of background, age, belief or faith, disability, gender, race, or sexual orientation. We value inclusivity and recognise that volunteering can help build confidence, skills, and connections while reducing social isolation.
Recognition
We value and acknowledge the contribution volunteers make to the library, the local community, and wider social objectives. Recognition is essential to maintaining a fair and respectful relationship between volunteers and the organisation.
